Today we want to share with you the wonderful trip to Valencia to tell you about our experiences and discoveries made in this vibrant and historical city.

Valencia welcomed us with a riot of colors, smells and sounds that awakened the senses. The streets were animated by traditional music, while the smell of the sea and the famous Valencian paella permeated the air. Every corner of the city told a story and invited us to discover more.

Artistic Discoveries: Botijos and Socarrats
During our stay, we had the opportunity to discover unique pieces of art, such as “botijos” and “socarrats”. Botijos are traditional ceramic water containers, known for their ability to keep water cool even on the hottest days. Each botijo is a work of art, decorated with patterns and colors that reflect Valencian culture and tradition.

Meeting with Artesanìa Yuste
One of the most memorable encounters was with the craftsman Yuste. The son of the well-known Enrique Yuste, he passionately carries on the family business. His dedication and skill are reflected in every piece he creates.
We had the honor of purchasing some “ socarrats ” directly from her workshop. Socarrats are ceramic tiles traditionally used to decorate Valencian homes. These pieces are especially special not only for their beauty, but also for their history. The mother, Africa Yuste, continues to hand-paint these masterpieces, signing each piece with her name. The socarrats we purchased bear Africa’s signature, adding a personal and authentic touch to our discoveries.

Bring a Piece of Valencia to Your Home
We are thrilled to share these treasures with you. Each botijo and socarrat you find at Vicode tells a story and brings with it a piece of the beauty of Valencia. We hope these pieces can enrich your homes as much as they have enriched our experience.
