We had an unforgettable experience discovering the hidden treasures of Istanbul . An adventure that made our hearts beat faster as lovers of travel and unique objects, just like those we love to offer on our e-commerce site Vicode.
It was a journey full of emotions and discoveries, starting with the amazement in front of the magnificence of the Galata Tower , which stands majestically in the sky of Istanbul, offering a breathtaking spectacle both day and night. We felt small in front of such splendor, but at the same time filled with joy for having had the opportunity to admire such an architectural work of art.
The Blue Mosque welcomed us with its enchanting beauty, majestic domes and intricate decorative details. Entering this sacred place was a moment of deep contemplation and respect for Turkish culture and spirituality.
But one of the most authentic moments of our trip was definitely when we had the opportunity to taste Boza, a typical Turkish drink, in the company of our friend Kadir.
Kadir , from the Instagram page @lacucinaturcaconkadir is a guy from Istanbul who studied Erasmus in Italy, so he speaks perfect Italian! Kadir guided us through the streets of his hometown, revealing hidden and authentic corners.
This is how we arrived at Vefa Bozacısı , a historic place that has been delighting its customers with this traditional drink for more than a century. Between smiles, stories and the warmth of Turkish hospitality, we savored the unique taste of Boza, immersed in an atmosphere that seemed suspended in time.
But the surprises didn't end there. The Basilica Cisterna left us breathless, with its imposing columns and lights dancing on the water. In this magical place, we experienced a moment of pure wonder, captured by the suggestive atmosphere that enveloped every corner of this ancient underground structure.
And then, there was the Grand Bazaar . A labyrinth of alleys and stalls, where we lost ourselves among the scents of spices and the colors of fabrics, among the bustle of merchants and the call of their voices. It was here, in a shop that seemed to hold age-old secrets, that we found our treasures.
Vases never seen before, unique pieces made entirely by hand in papier-mâché, colored and decorated with mastery. It took just one look to fall madly in love, and we couldn't help but take them with us, ready to share their beauty and authenticity with the world through Vicode.
Our trip to Istanbul was an extraordinary adventure, a dive into the beating heart of Turkish culture, among ancient traditions and excellent craftsmanship.
